Chris Baker joined the Latexo ISD Police Department in August 2024 and was quickly appointed Chief of Police in December. His career in law enforcement spans over 33 years, beginning in Kissimmee, Florida. After a distinguished tenure as Division Captain in Special Operations, he retired from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office in June 2024. In this capacity, he directed critical operations including the Traffic Unit, Aviation Unit, Agriculture & Marine Unit, Street Level Narcotics, and the Osceola County Investigative Bureau, a High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) funded Drug Task Force. After retirement, Chief Baker relocated to Houston County with his wife of 29 years, Casey. He is a proud father of two daughters and enjoys hunting and fishing. Chief Baker is deeply honored to serve this community and is dedicated to creating a secure environment for students, faculty, and staff.

With over 11 years of experience in both school and general law enforcement, I am committed to the safety and security of my community. I have spent the past 7 years focusing on school law enforcement, ensuring the safety of educational institutions, while also gaining 4 years of experience in traditional law enforcement. A proud graduate of Crockett ISD (Class of 2010), I am dedicated to protecting and serving the public.
